Kiritimati Island is a popular destination for surfers, and for good reason.
The island has a golden five-kilometre stretch of points, reefs and channels between London village and Paris point, with 24 surfable waves. The surf season is from October through to March.

Of the 24 surf breaks on Kiritimati Island, two thirds are user-friendly with deep channels and sand or soft reef bottom. The other third has rough coral bottoms and are for experienced surfers only.
The surfing spots on Kiritimati Island are only accessed by boats. You can hire a boat through your local accommodation. The Paris surfing spot can also be accessed by car, but it is a long drive from London (Ronton in Kiribati).
